Frequently asked questions

Will I be in control?

Yes, hypnosis is a natural state. You will probably have already entered similar states when you have been completely focussed on something such as a good book, film or just daydreaming! Clinical hypnosis is a state of purposeful cooperation. You will be aware of what is happening during the session and any suggestions made will have been discussed and tailored to ensure they are just right for you.

Is it safe?

Yes, It’s a natural state of relaxation. Many people report and improved sense of well being and improved sleep as a result.

Can I be hypnotised?

The vast majority of people can enter a hypnotic trance but only if they want to. You will enter a level that is comfortable for you and this is experienced differently according to the individual. The level of trance, however, is not nearly as important as the intention of the individual in coming to therapy to make the desired changes. It is this which will encourage good results.
